2017 Washington Library Association Conference
The Hotel Murano, Tacoma, WA
Wednesday, November 1 - Saturday, November 4, 2017
The Conference Planning Committee has chosen a theme for WLA's 2017 Annual Conference in Tacoma: “Libraries Through the Looking-Glass.”
Tacoma has a vibrant glass arts community, including the Museum of Glass in walking distance from the Hotel Murano, which itself has an impressive glass art collection on display throughout the hotel and conference facility. Also within walking distance is the Chihuly Bridge of Glass and an Alice in Wonderland public art mural. The committee also gravitated towards the idea of libraries reflecting back upon themselves, a core purpose of the annual conference.
